Ally's Palate Study at Children's

Ally had her palate study done in the radiology department this morning.  Julie Cook the speech therapist said she has never gotten a little one Ally's age or younger to cooperate for the full study as Ally did today.  She was able to x-ray without any issues.

It really was quite a neat experience, Ally looked into a view finder at cartoon pictures while the speech therapist had her repeat words.  The Radiologist x-rayed her palate while she was talking.  On the screen you could see her mouth movements and every once in awhile see her skeleton of a head if she moved.  That was kind of creepy!

Unfortunately, Julie feels that Doctor Kane is going to have to go back in and repair the palate so that it will work correctly.  She feels it isn't quite where it needs to be.  She will take these scans to Dr. Kane and have him decide.

In the meantime I think we are going to start taking Ally to Julie for speech therapy twice a week at Children's.  This will able all personnel to see what needs to be done to get Ally as far as we can get her in the next few months.

And yes, it was mean, but I had to take a picture of Ally later in the day doing what all kids do the best!  Yes you see it!

Having fun and trying to take a decent picture to be nice and send to dad!

Loving on Taylor after a long, long day!
