Finishing off the last day of 2012

Happy, Happy Birthday to my dear father who passed away three years ago! I have been trying to find a picture of him that is somewhere and can't find it. That tells me he don't want it on here! Anyway, I hope God is singing Happy Birthday to him and he is having a great day. Oh, how I miss him. I remember the partying we always had for him today and to bring in the next year. Oh how I miss those too. Life just isn't the same anymore and making it very hard on me. I love you dad and miss you more than you will ever know! 

Minnie now is on thyroxin two times a day for the rest of her life for her low thyroid.  This should help with her having more energy.  This will be great to see.

This last year has been okay, all in all, the kids have been healthy.  Just growing up way too fast.  Our animals have kept us busy and kept us happy.  Tom got a new job.  My embroidery has stayed busy.  Steven has had a girlfriend for six months; a record for him! Kyle we haven't seen much, as his room is where he stays.  Ally is coming along very slow with talking, she has made friends at school fine, but at home doesn't know how to keep herself busy.  Jess is getting married sometime soon I am sure. 

Money we could use more of. I can only hope this next year is better on that front.  We would like to get some things payed off. Please Lord let something come are way!

It's been a rainy day and cold, but yet we are still here and the world isn't gone.

Ally finally decided to find something constructive to do!  She was pretty proud of herself with building such a tall tower without if falling over.  I was just hoping she didn't fall herself and get hurt.

Christmas Day!

Well the first Christmas early morning that we were awaken by thunder and lightening all night long.  It has rained and rained all day!  We didn't start opening gifts until ever nine a.m. this morning.  I think that is the first for being so late starting.  I do have to say I think the kids got what they were hoping for.  It's problably the first year we will have Ally say she didn't know what she wanted for Christmas! It's going to be a very quited day, and it will be getting very cold outside with some snow coming down as it just started!

Pasties Time

So after watching "American Pickers" on TV the night before, they were talking about pasties since they were in the UP of Michigan.  That sounded so good I decided to make them for the first time today.  My mom always made them as they were my dad's favorite thing to eat.  They were good, but I won't make them again just because they take so long and then are just okay! 

 

 

We then went to Plano to see the lights in a neighborhood.  They were neat, but not as neat as either Tom or I was hoping for!

Dooms Day 12/21/12

So the Mayans thought our world would end today; but the sun came out and it is a beautiful day!  Thank you God for keeping our world the way it is.  We love our life and hope to have a great, gret day!

Miss USA wins Miss Universe!

For the first time in 15 years, Miss USA wins the crown for Miss Universe. I absolutely loved her gown as it so looked like a gown a Disney Princess would wear!  Congrats!

So I finally remembered to pull mine and Ally's Christmas Aprons down that our neighbor, Becky, sewed for us and gave to me for a present.  It was the first time Ally had seen them.  Oh my gosh, it was the best toy for the entire day.  She hasn't worn it to cook yet, but she will!

Kyle's 15th Birthday

Our lovely dog Minnie turns "10" years old today.  She is the most loving animal anyone could possibly have.  She is getting old and it is showing, but we love her like no other.  Happy, Happy Birthday Miss Minnie, we love you!

Christmas Tree Time!

We went to Home Depot last night and spent $29 for a tall thin Christmas tree.  Not the funnest way to get a tree, but a good deal on it no less.  It sat all night so the branches could drop down. Tom put lights on it this afternoon and then it was time for us to pull out the ornaments.  Ally was so funny, she found an ornament we have had since we had her that has her name on it, and oh my goodness was she excited and thanking me so much for it.  The surprise she expressed was priceless!

Ally's elf turned out much cuter than I thought it would after she colored it all in with a gold marker!  I say it must be a rich elf!  She had fun with it.  Again another idea from Pinterest!

So, I was so excited, "The Elf on the Shelf" cartoon came on tv tonight.  I didn't realize there was actually a real movie and the elf had been out for a couple years prior to this year.  I am so enticed by this elf that's it's not funny.  Anyway, Ally is playing with our elf "Buddy" and is hiding.  Can you see her?

Connecticut Elementary School Shooting!

I have cried off and on today, as this is such a heartbreaking day for parents and loved ones in Connecticut.  I hugged my daughter tight when I picked her up and told Kyle I loved him very much when I picked him up.

Is very thankful my baby is with me. God bless those poor babies and adults who our country lost today. What a tragedy bringing tears to my heart and my heart broken.
